Severe Issues with a Brand New Dell Inspiron

The laptop is simply non-functional and appears to be configured incorrectly. Firstly, while working on a Word document, the screen consistently froze every five minutes, even when no other apps were running. Secondly, the laptop decided to perform driver updates without any warning when it was put to sleep for just ten minutes. These updates went on for a whopping 20 minutes. Lastly, the ultimate frustration: there was absolutely no sound on this computer.

I had the pleasure of reviewing this laptop, and it's precisely what we needed for our back-to-school preparations. It features a sleek design with a tasteful color that breaks away from the typical all-black laptops. The subtle elevation when you open the screen is a nice touch. Setting it up was a breeze. The touchpad might be a bit sensitive, but that's something that can be adjusted. Considering its price, it offers good storage and is an overall great product I'd recommend.

Persistent Touchpad Issues

Right from day one, the touchpad on this laptop had problems with cursor freezing and becoming unresponsive. I frequently needed to close and reopen the laptop to regain cursor functionality. After just two weeks, the touchpad completely stopped working. The cursor vanished, and the touchpad died. I reached out to Dell for assistance, but their remote support couldn't resolve the issue.
